SCOTS COLLEGE.
ITS RETENTION ASSURED. READY RESPONSE TO APPEAL. (Per United Press Association.) WELLINGTON, December 12. The boys of Scots College (Wellington) have been notified that the school ia to continue. Though the full £IO,OOO required has not quite been reached, yet the response to the appeal of a fortnight ago has been so ready and prompt that the Board of Governors has accepted the responsibility of requesting that the sale to the Education Department be cancelled. It is stated that, upon being approached, Sir Joseph Ward and Cabinet had shown a most sympathetic attitude, and had readily agreed to fall in with public opinion in allowing the sale to be annulled should the school authorities so request.
