(Received Dec. 5, at 11.30 p.m.) The Prime Minister (Mr Mackenzie King), speaking at Ontario, declared that if the United States changed her tariff to injure Canada, then Canada would take the necessary steps to meet the situation. He believed that Canada should try to trade with , her own kith and kin as largely as possible. It was part of the Liberal policy, to encourage trade within the Empire, and the Minister of Trade and Commerce was doing nil that was possible in this direction.
