ZURICH TO LONDON.
SWISS CYCLIST'S TRIP. LEFT HAND RULE AIUDDLE. Stefan Hort, a young Swiss, cycled into London recently after starting ‘from Zurich seven days previously, covering COO miles during that time. He was delighted with the last lap of the journey for he found to his amazement that the English roads were incomparably bettor than tho German, Dutch, or Belgian roads. ‘‘Oh! I was pleasantly surprised," he said. “In Belgium the roads have big holes that nearly knock you off, and in Holland there are plenty of little tiny stones which puncture your tyres. “On this long journey I must say that English people were nice to me. You see I am quite poor. longed to come to London, and I had just saved up exactly enough to do the lourney, but, of course, I had nothing to spare. “ AVell. when I started from Switzeiland, on my second day I met an English cyclist. He asked me where I was staying for the night, and I told him I must stay .at some little place that is not expensive. He laughed, and fold me to stay with him in his tent and save the night s lodging. “ Then, when I got to Dover 1 started to cycle on tho right side of the road, and found myself running into everything, cars, lorries, bicycles, and everything, ■'A very intelligent man came over to me when some people were shouting at me and explained that in England you travel on the left of the road. He was a sensible fellow.”
