FALSE CREDENTIALS

TWO GT"MAN SMUGGLERS. A NEAT COUP EXECUTED. (United Press Association.) (By Electric Telegraph Copyright.) STOCKHOLM November IC. (Received Nov. 17, at 5.5 p.m.) Two German smugglers executed a neat coup at Aaland Island. Using false credentials, in which they were described as Customs officers, they visited the local Customs house an asked to be allowed to go out with the Customs boat on the track of a large rum runner which was expected to arrive at Aaland. The search proved futile, hut it was later discovered that the soi-disant Customs officers were agents of a smuggling concern and had succeeded in keeping the Aaland Customs boat out of the way while a huge consignment of liquor was landed at another part of the coast.
