HEADLESS BODY IN BAG. MAN CHARGED WITH MURDER. (United Press Association.j (By Electric Telegraph— Copy right. I - SYDNEY, November 13. The Narrabrj police recovered from a creek the head of the man whose dismembered body was found in a sack some days ago, and at Glen Innes last night a man was charged with the murder, at Narrabri, of Arthur Smith, or Sorenson. ACCUSED REMANDED. SYDNEY, November 15. (Received Nov., 15, at 10 p.m.) The man charged with murder at Narrabri is Paul Meniel, aged 50. He is of German descent. He was remanded. A post mortem examination of the head, which was discovered in a bag, reveals severe fractures, which were probably caused by blows with a heavy instrument, A NOTORIOUS CRIMINAL. THREE HUNDRED CRIMES. SYDNEY, November 15. (Received Nov. 15, at 10 p.m.) A notorious criminal, Ernest Martin, aged 26, was to-day sentenced to 12 years’ imprisonment for robbery under arms, garroting, and house-breaking. The police stated that Martin confessed to 300 crimes, of which 82 wore safe robberies. Mr Justice Curlewjs described him as a dangerous, useless sort of person. STORM'.IN NEW SOUTH WALES. At Alexandria a ball of fire ran up the facade of the Manchester Unity Independent Order of Oddfellows’ building in the city, and at Grafton the public hall was shifted bodily and wrecked.
