PLAYING FIELDS
THE NATIONAL ASSOCIATION. ADDRESS BY DUKE OF YORK. (United Press Association.) (By Electric Telegraph—Copyright.) LONDON, November 12. (Received Nov. 13, at 9 p.m.) The Duke of York, speaking at the National Playing Fields Association, said that four years’ work had resulted in the establishment of 43 county branches, while 427 schemes, involving a capital expenditure of £1,500,000, had been formulated. Money gifts, including £200,000 from the Carnegie trustees, had been received to help in the provision of playing fields.
