NEW FRENCH SUBMARINE

She will be the world’s largest submarine and the Paris correspondent of the Daily Mail says submersible cruiser would be a truer name than submarine. Her deck is armoured and her 14-torpedb.tubes are so arranged that she is able to attack an enemy ship in any position. She has four fiveinch quick-firers and anti-aircraft guns. The vessel is 400 feet long and has a speed of 19 knots. Her displacement afloat is 3257 .tons and submerged 3301. She-can submerge to-560 feet. The largest submarine now afloat is the British XI. which is 350 feet long, has six torpedo tubes, and coat over £1,000,000.
