SUPREME COURT.

WELLINGTON,

(Peb United Press Association.)

WELLINGTON, November 7. In the Supreme Court to-day Mrs Gertrude Mary Le Sueur claimed £451 19s damages from Leo Chiing for injuries received through being allegedly knocked down in Courtenay place last June by a motor car driven by Chung. The Chief Justice, after hearing plaintiff's evidence, refused defendant’s application for a nonsuit. The evidence so far showed that the plaintiff and two other women were crossing the road on a dark, wet night, and were knocked down by a slow-moving motor car which had the automatic light signals in its favour. The case will be resumed to-morrow. The jury found Abele Dalla-rioa, a young Italian, not guilty of the manslaughter of Wallace Parlane, who died as the result of injuries received when the accused and the deceased collided on motor cycles at an intersection last September. The jury failed to agree on the charge of negligently driving a motor cycle, therebv causing the death of Parlane. Another trial is asked for.
