Barden, of Melbourne, Australia, at the Synagogue. Outlining the gallery and entwining were ropes and garlands of greenery, out of which background white clematis and palest cream narcissi peeped with artistic effect. Under a canopy of navy velvet fringed with gold the bride and bridegroom, with the bridal entourage, stood for the ceremony, at which the Rev. A. Astor officiated. Mr Paget Gale wua at the organ. The bride, who was given away by her father, and her aunt, Mrs E. I. Halsted, wore a bridal gown of gold lame fashioned after' the Queen Catherine style. A perfectly moulded bodice, tightly fitting, met the skirt in a -patalled line, low at the back, and; at the nornv.il waistline in front. A circular skirt dipped to the ankles at the back, the front being much 1 shorter in length, . The long tightlytitting sleeves finished with dainty petalled cuffs and the square neck were other features borrowed from a bygone age. The long train, caught at the shoulders and ending in large petals, bad a lining of finest silk net that extended several inches beyond the lame, bordering *t most effectively. A knot of blossom and pearls on the train and another at the waist were Dm only ornaments to relieve the sheer simplicity of the gown. The voluminous veil of Brussels net was arranged with a coronet of blossom to fall in the long sweeping lines that characterised the bridal, ensemble. The chosen head dress, finished at the back with little satin ribbon ties, euited to perfection the brides dark coiffure. A sheaf of ivory tulips was carried, and the gold brocade slippers of the bride added the finishing touches of perfection.- Continuing the golden colour scheme, the bridesmaids— Miss Margaret Halsted and Miss Michaehs, of Sydney (cousin of the brine)—-looked most charming in frpeks of daffodil ninon over crepe de chine. The skirts, composed of many picot edged petals that dipped and fluttered enchantingly, wero long at the Rack. The hipunes, defined by broad bands of tiny tucks, were appliqued with a diamondshaped pattern of the ninon. The long, tigbt|y-fittiug>sleeves were finished with quaintly flared cuffs, and a bow of the ninon appliqued to tbe left shoulder in front and to the right shoulder at the back charmingly-relieved the simplicity of P le r Hats of rich Havana brown in Chinese hemp, simply moulded to widebi mimed picture shapes, had V-shaped insets of the same coloured lace encircling the crown. Mrs i!/mu Halsted s lace and georgette ensemble was most effective. The lace skirt was swathed snugly round the hips, but divided and dropped at tbe left front to reveal a wide V of the georgette underuenth, thou dipped to the ankles in two points. A long roll collar of ‘georgette, with a finely pleated edging relieved the lace bodice. A georgette jacket inset with an inverted V of laco at the back, the apex beginning at the neck line, widened to within a few inches of . the bottom, where it joined the wide band of lace bordering the coatee.
