PROPOSED MUNICIPAL TAXES, REDUCTION IN ONE SECTION. (United Press Association.) (By Electric Telegraph—Copyright.) PARIS, September 20. (Received Sept. 27, at 9 p.m.) The_ threatened, closing of theatres following the refusal by the proprietors in April last to pay the proposed municipal taxes has been obviated by a reduction by 20 per cent, of the poor tax, but the trouble has been transferred to the over-increasing dance halls, to which 7 per cent, has been added.—Australian Press Association. 1
