Under charter to the Federal Line the steamer Tasmania arrived at Dunedin yesterday afternoon from Liverpool,- via Pinaina. Auckland, Wellington,’ and Lyttelton. The vessel was berthed at the Victoria wharf, where the remainder of her Home cargo is being discharged. The Tasmania loaded at Newport, Avonmouth, and Liverpool. She sailed from Liverpool on July 20 and cleared Panama on August 6. Generally fair weather prevailed, except during the last week of the voyage, when severe cyclonic weather was encountered with strong variable winds and high confused seas. . The storm was at its height on August 27, when tho vessel bad to Ueave-to for 24 hours. A considerable amount of water was shipped on-deck during the storm, but only minor damage was done. The Indio-Pacific, Company’s steamer Narbada, formerly the Leitrim, arrived at Dunedin yesterday afternoon from Calcutta, via ports, and was berthed at the Victoria wharf to discharge a quantity of Eastern merchandise. When the vessel was chartered for the Cal-cutta-New Zealand trade, a cargo of coal was loaded at Cardiff for Colombo. She cleared 'the Welsh port on May ,30, and arrived at Colombo on July S after a fine weather passage. The coal was discharged and she left a fortnight later t for Calcutta. The Uter port was left on Atjgust 2, and calls were made at Penang, Singapore, ‘ and Samarang. Samarang was cleared on August 18, and good weather was experienced until September 2, when she ran Into a south-westerly moderate gale and: seas. The vessel arrived at Auckland on September 4, and, after discharging part cargo there proceeded to Wellington, Lyttelton, and Tlmaru. Captain J.
