OPOSSUM SKIN SALE. Association, Ltd., and National Mortgage and Agency Company, btd.) report as' follows: The last opossum sale of the season was held yesterday, when approximately 24,000 skins were offered. . The quality of the skins was not up to the standard of previous sales, quite a big proportion being comprised of light-furred North Island skins. This has to be taken into account in comparing prices. The demand was not as keen as atlast sale, and prices generally were lower. Blacks and browns were in best demand and were from is 6d to 2s per akin lower than last sale. Blues and greys were 2s to 3s lower. Super skins showed the biggest decline in each case, but seconds and inferior grades brought correspondingly better prices. The following is the range of prices:~Supei black, 18s to 21s sd; first blacks, 14s to Ls; second blacks. 11s to 13s; super browns, 12s to 15s; first browns, 10s 6d to 12s; second browns, 8s to Os 6d; supet blues, I7s to 19s 10d; first blues. 13s fid to 15s 0d; second blues, 10s 6d to 12s 6d; super greys, 15s to I8s; first greys, 12s 6d to 14s 6d; second greys, 9s Cd to 12s; super reds. 11s 6d to 12s 6d; first reds, 9s to 11s; second reds, 6s 6d to 8s 6d Small and inferior sorts sold at correspondingly lower prices.
