Kenneth Macdonald, aged 52, a farmer, of Te Kowhai, has been missirig from bis home since September 9, On the previous day his wife whs admitted to hospital. Nd trace of Macdonald has since been found. NEW PLYMOUTH, September 20. William Percival Leonard Knight pleaded not guilty.. in the Police Court to-day to eight charges of theft of postal packets in New Plymouth, one charge . of attempted theft from a postal box and one charge of attempted breaking and entering at Waitara. He was committed for trial at the Supreme Court. Bail was allowed. WELLINGTON, September 20. The Wellington Fire- Board has denuded to take steps. Lv induce the City Council to pass a by-law making compulsory the installation of sprinklers or other effective fire protection in buildings above a certain size.
