HOCKEY.
LADIES’ ASSOCIATION. The weekly meeting of the executjvc of the Otago Ladies’ Hockey Association was held on Monday evening, when there were present Mrs Cf. A. Nelson (in the chair), Misses Ireland, Turnbull, and Hill, and Mr A. W. Tucker. A letter _ was received from South Otago Ladies’ Hockey Sub-association with reference to the match versus Otago on August 24.—1 t was decided to keep to the arrangements made, and that the match be held on that day at Logan Park. A letter was received from the Central Otago Ladies’ Hockey Association relative to the suggested trip of an Otago team to Central Otago. The arrangements now made for this trip are that the Otago team leave Dunedin on Thursday,. August 29, play a Central team at Clyde on August 30, and play a Mauiot.oto team at Ranfurly on August 31. 1 Tim North Otago Ladies’ Hockey Association also wrote advising that arrangements were being made for a match Otago v North Otago at Herbert ou Saturday, August 31.—1 t was decided that the team go. by train on Saturday and return on Sunday. A letter was received .from the Technical High School hocke team asking for permission to play a match at the Oval on August 22 against Christchurch; to play Invercargill at Invercargill on August -7; and also to wear caps.with the school’s now colours. —Permission was granted accordingly. Congratulations were extended to the Training College-A and B teams on their winning the A- and B Grade cups in the grade competition for the season. The secretary reported that she had received the following entries for the knock-out seven-a-side tournament to he held at Logan Park main ground next Saturday:—A Grade, nine entries; B Grade, 16 entries. The draw for the tournament will be published in the course of a day or two. The entry fee for each player taking part in the tournament is Is, which will be collected at the .entrance gate on the day of the tournament. It was decided that plav commence at 1.45 p.m., and that each game be of 15 minutes’ duration, Mr Tucker, of Training College, reported that the Training College A team had played Milton A team at Milton last Saturday, when Milton won by one goal
