RETURNED SOLDIERS’ CHOIR

The chosen numbers for the Returned Soldiers’ second concert of the season at His Majesty’s Theatre on Wednesday will include selections of outstanding merit. Included ip the programme will be “An Evening Lullaby,” a colourful melodious number, “ Queen of the Night,” “John Peel,” “The Curfew” (G. Attwood), De Rifle’s “La Retractc,” “ Awake, Aeolian Lyre,” “ The Chorus of Pilgrims.” from “ Tonnhauscr,” “ The Soldier’s Chorus,” and “The Laughing Chorus.” The assisting artists will be Miss Marjory Smith, a 'cello soloist from Christchurch, and Miss Irene Horniblow, the wellrknown contralto, who has chosen “The Restless Sea” and “Fairy Tales.’ The choir soloists will be Mr George Crawford, his choice being “ Your Tiny Hand is Frozen,” from “ La Roheme,” apd Mf T. D, White, who will sing “ The Yeoman’s Wedding Song.” Mr John Leech will conduct the choir, and Mr Spackman will be the ceompnnist. The box plan arrangements arc advertised.
