At a congregation in the Senate House, Cambridge, on June 16, degrees were conferred upon the following New Zealanders:— . Ph.D.—Robert S. Allan, Emmanuel (Otago _ University, holder of an 1851 Exhibition Scholarship from New Zealand ). B.A. (by proxy).—H. H. Elwortliy, Trinity Hall: Desmond W. E. Neligaii, Jesus College. Mr Neligau was horn at Bishop’s Court when his father was in Auckland. The deputy vi co-chau cel lor announces that the Board of Research Studies approves a number of degrees, including: Ph.D., R. S. Allan (Emmanuel). Geology research has been Mr Allan’s special work. TRIPOS LISTS. The Historical Tripos, Part 11, Class HI.—A: J. L. Sadlier, Ds. (Emmanuel, and Nelson). Allowed one subsidiary subject for the ordinary B.A. Degree.—R. D. Horton (Trininty Hall, and Auckland). Law Tripos, Part IT, Class lII.—E. D. Blundell, Trinity If all (Waitaki and Wellington); N. M. Izard (Trinity Hall, and Wanganui), Natural Sciences Tripos, Part I, Glass HI.—D. H. F. Barnett (Clare College and Otago University). Eeconomics Tripos, Part I, Class 111. —Allowed the ' principal subjects, economies and ■ economic history and social institutions, and two subsidiary subjects in Group I of the ordinary B.A. Degree:—P. A. N. Nathan (Trinity Hall). ' Women: English Tripos, Part I, Class 11, Division 2.—Sheelagh M. V. Sadlier (Ncwuham and Nelson). The General Admission of Honour men who have been successful in the recent tripos examinations at Cambridge took place in the Senate House on June l!j, and the degree of B.A. was conferred upon the following New Zealanders: In person, D. H. F. Barnett (Clare College), by proxy, E. D. Blundell and N. M. Izard, in-person (Trinity Hall); D. 0. W. Hall, by proxy (Jesus College and Wanganui).
