SUNDAY SERVICES.
The Rev. James. Burns will preach tomorrow morning at Knox Church on " The Church’s Most Urgent Problem." The subject of the evening sermon will be “The Tale of Two Brothers," and the choir will sing the anthem "Once More the Twilight Glow.” The Kev. A. Brian ,Kilroy will occupy the pulpit, at First Church to-morrow. In the morning his subject will be “The Vision of the. Simple Hearted,” and in the evening “Is Religion a Drug.” The. Rev. A. R. Penn will conduct both services in the St. Clair Methodist Church to-morrow. -At Rossbotham Hall, Dowling street, to-morrow evening. Mr Sibbey will address his congregation on the question of “ Capital and Labour in the Light of Prophecy.’’
At the Caversham Presbyterian Church the morning subject will be “ The Urge of the Soul,” and in the evening “ Does God Have Fairplayi ” At York JPlace Hall to-morrow. evening the Fellowship of the Lord’s Table will be open to all Christians. At .the evening service Mr Frank Varlcy will continue a series of studies in The subject will he, “ Sarah’s LaughFaith’s Triumph.” The Rev. W. H. Hocking will conduct both services at the Dundas Street Methodist Church . to-morrow. The morning worship will be followed by Holy Communion, and at the evening service Mr Charles Paisley. will sing “ V atch and Pray,” and the ‘choir will render the anthem, “ Shout For Joy.” Communion will he dispensed at the evening service at the United Congregational Church to-hforrow. The Rev. Maitland Elliss will preach on the subject, “The Bread of Life.” The morning subject will be “ A Universal Yearning-”
The Cargill Road Methodist Church services to-morrow will be conducted by the Rev. J, A. Lochore. Mr Harrv Drew will sing “ The Lord is My Light ” and “If With All Your Hearts” at the evening service. A rally of all communicants will be held at the close of the service.
At the Higher Thought Centre, Jubilee Hall,. View street, to-morrow evening, Cassilda Carmen will conduct a healing meeting, taking as her subject “ The Wonders of Transmutation.” A healing concentration will be held at the close for those sick or in trouble. At the North-East Valley Presbyterian Church to-mornpv *the Rev. George Miller will preach at both services.'. His morning .subject will he, “ Sanitation, Education, or the Gospel,” and in the evening he will preach on “ Tell the Young Mon also to be Masters of Themselves at all Points,” The soloist will be Mrs Flamank.
At the Hanover Street Baptist Church to-morrow morning the quarterly fellowship and . communion service will be held. The subject will be, “Come Thou with Us ami We Will do Thee Good.” The anthem will bo, “God so Loved the World.” “Do Thyself No Harm” will be the subject in t.hfj? evening, when the choir will sing the hymn study, “ Rock of Ages,” and the anthem “King of Kings.” Mr W. Hilliker will sing a solo. The St. Andrew Church of Christ observes the first Sunday in August as Home-coming Sunday. An attempt is made to have the whole church at mornhxg worship, and special arrangements are made to carry the' aged and those living at a distance in motor cars. The special preacher for this year will' be Pastor T. H. Matheson, of America. “Those Whom Jesus Loved” will be the subject in the morning, and “A Glorious Contradiction: Sorrowful Yet Always; Rejoicing ” will be the subject in the evening at >St. Stephen’s Church; when ; the; Rev. . . .At the Maori Hill . Presbvtorian Church to-morrow’ both services will be conducted by the Rev. ’A. C. W. Standage, the morning service being “ Tlie Aim of Christian iVorahip.” In the evening the theme will bo “The Music of the Gospel Across the Centuries,” dealing with the message of a wellknown hymn. The choir will siim the anthem. “ I Will Lift Up Mine Eyes.” At the Central Mission to-morrow evening the annual parade of friendlv societies will .take place. The'Band o*f the Ist Battalion' of the Otago Repriment will be in attendance, Mr W. R. Satterwaite will sing “Crossing the P ar ;’’ ’.The service will be conducted by the Rev. I. B. Hinton.
