An astonishing “ strike ” of'diamonds has been made, the precious stones being found in the crops of Wild ostriches at Kalahari and Ovambolaiid, South Africa. The birds apparently had been driven from the Namaqualanddiamond fields by the arrival of Government "diggers. Many natives: and white hunters hav« recovered valuable gems-, from the ostriches, but the surviving, birds are dow so hunted that thev are becomin—■ extremely wild " and. difficult, to approach. - 1
