Passers-by wens dumbfounded by an extraordinary accident at Putney. A British Red Cross ambulance containing a bathchair occupied by an invalid who displayed the 1914 and other war medals and the police medal was making its way up Putney Hidi street when, owing’to the gradient, the bathchair ran out on to the roadway. It fell on its wheels, and in the midst of heavy traffic ran across the road into an omnibus. The wheels of the bathchair were buckled and' the occupant was considerably shaken. The ambulance travelled to the top of the hill before it was realised that they were without a passenger. It thereupon hurried back and the injured ex-service man, who is understood to have been to the police review in Hyde Park, was placed in the ambulance again and taken home.
