It has been officially announced that the Canadian Wheat Pool’s initial payment for 1929 crops has been fixed at one dollar per bushel. “One dollar per bushel has been the initial price paid by the pool since the Canadian pool was formed in 1924, with the'exception of last year,” said the chairman, “ when the initial payment was lowered to 80 cents. We are satisfied that the step then taken by our Central Board as been amply justified by the market developments during recent months.”—Australian Press Association.
