SOUTHLAND MAY FAIR.

FINAL MMETING OF COMMITTEE. (rfPJCtI.U. I!) i)All 1 IME3 i INVERCARGILL, June 13. The final meeting of the Southland May Fair Committee was held to-day. Advice was received from the Southland Racing Club that the club was applying for May 14 and 15 as the dates for its autumn mooting in 1930. Messrs W. Stevenson, J. S, Brass, and P. Witt wore appointed to interview the Racing Club, and if necessary the A. and P. Association, to make arrangements for next year’s May Fair.

The treasurer (Mr F. ,1, Robinson) submitted a statement of receipts and payments, which disclosed a very satisfactory credit balance. It was decided to make donations to the four bands which assisted during May Fair in appreciation of their services. Donations were also made to the Basketball Association and the Football Association, The advisability of bolding a band quickstep competition at next May Fair was discussed and a snb-committec appointed to go more fully into the matter.
