MONTHLY MEETING. The monthly meeting of the Otago Land Board was continued, there being present Messrs B. S. Galbraith (chairman), C*. J. Imlcr, T. A. Mnnro, G. Livingstone, and J. It. M'Culloch, Air Livingstone intimated his intention to move at next meeting that the resolution of November 14 lust, that section 71, block 11, Tiger Hill Survey District, he offered for sale by public auction, be rescinded, and that the application of John M'Knight to purchase the section he reconsidered. James Craig, jun., protested against the private sale of the land, and stated that he was u prospective purchaser. As a guarantee of good faith lie enclosed his cheque for £IOO, which, in his opinion, is the minimum price that will he realised at a sale by public auction.—Previous resolutions rescinded, and Mr APKnight’s application recommended for approval at £2i>. APPOINTMENT OF ARBITRATOR.

A. T. W r . Stevenson, bolder cm small grazing run lease of section i>, block XIV, Benger S.D., has dejected to the rental placed on the lease for the purpose of a renewal, and had appointed Mr Archibald Stuart, 08 Eglinton road, Dunedin, as his arbitrator. The board was asked to appoint its arbitrator.— Mr John Sheppard appointed appraiser for the Crown.

The commissioner submitted for consideration the following proposals;— That the area of 3012 a 3r 35p, held on miscellaneous license 2584, by C. W. Wardell, be made a small grazing run, and as such offered for public selection at an annual rental of £130; that.the area of 857 acres, held on miscellaneous license 2585 by H. E. Cameron, and the area of 3954 acres held on miscellaneous license' 2G54 by Thomas M’Gone be grouped as one small grazing run and offered for selection at an annua] rental of £125; that the area of 748 acres held on miscellaneous license 3624 by J, S. Woods, and the area of 4420 acres, hold on miscellaneous license 2057 by J". R, Franklin, be grouped as one small grazing run, and offered for selection at an annual rental of £115; that the area of 595 acres, held on miscellaneous license by Mary Shanks, and the area of 3799 acres, held on miscellaneous license 2050 by R. K. Ireland, be grouped as one small gra’ziim run, ■ and 5 offered for selection at an annual rental of £l2o.—Proposals approved, subject to modification; licensees to be informed that their licenses would not be renewed upon expiry in April and Slay next.

The application made by James Murray for a right to occupy part of the river-■ mink reserve opposite section 1-4, block XI, Town of Waipahi, was submitted for further consideration.— Granted at an annual rental of 10s, such rental to commence on June 1, 1931, and subject to ■the section being cleared of gorso and broom, to the satisfaction of the inspector. The board was asked to .consider the disposal of sections 40, block VIII Tarras S.D., and 9 and 17, block VII Lower Hawea S.D., area 90 acres 1 rood 31 poles.—C. F. (501 a 3r Ip), applied for the inclusion in the lease of an area of approximately 45 .cres between the railway and Tnicri River, which area he holds on temporary grazing license.— Held over till next meeting. Charles Noonc, holder of small grazing run lease over Run 244 C, Tiger Hill S.D., had applied to exchange to renewable lease. Elsa, Ray Grant applied for a year-to-year right to occupy section 43 of the Brighton subdivision, block XVI, Dunedin and East Tnicri S.D., area I rood 22 perches.—Granted at an annual rental of £l. The consent to transfer Run 339 D, Bannockburn, and 11,790 acres, Leaning Rock S.D., from Alice Corson to Herbert S. Corson was withdrawn.
