FRIENDLY SOCIETIES.

OEANGE LODGE, ' , The monthly meeting of the L.O.T. No 12, Wniiam Johnston, was held in the oA d TTT O^ B Kensington, on April 30. Bro. J. Roberts was assisted by a full staff of officers and a good attendance of members. The followingvisitors were admitted and welcomed;— Denfell, D.T. Bro. Anderson. W.M. Bro. Garry, No. 34, W.M. Bro. Martin, No. 905, and Bro. J. Mawhinny. D.M. No. 21. Two new members were admitted to membership. Bro. W. Muri, Grand Lodge delegate, submitted his report from Grand Lodge sessions held in Christchurch at Easter, and Bro. H. Sincock submitted the annual report from No. 3 district lodge. . The routine business'was disposed of by the W.M, Afier the loyal toast was partaken of in the usual manner, Bro. J. Robb, P.M a proposed the toast of the District Lodge, which was responded to by D.C. Bro. Benfell, who congratulated No. 12 on having its four delegates installed officers on district lodge, namely, Bro. G. A. Perrin, 1.P.M.; Bro. H. Sincock, D.S.; Bro. J. Wallis, D.T.; Bro. W. Murie, committeeman. Bro. G. A. Perrin, P.M., proposed the toast of the visitors, which was responded to by Bro. Prattley, No. 34. and Bro. J. Hawking, No. 21. FORESTERS. The C.R., Bro. Walton, presided over the fortnightly meeting of Court King Edward’s Pride, A.0.F., held on Thursday last. There was a very large attendance of members, also visitors from Courts Woodland’s Pride, JJarion, Pride of Dunedin, and Enterprise. The S.C.R. extended a he,arty welcome to the visitors, to which I.P.D.C.R. Bro. R. S. Vercoe responded. Four new members were initiated during the evening, and three propositions of candidates were received.
