CHINESE CARNIVAL.
Although the Chinese carnival, which is being held in His Majesty’s Theatre and adjoining buildings with the object, of augmenting, the funds, of the St. John Ambulance Brigade, has entered into its second week, the numbers of pleasure seekers desirous of obtaining amusement have in no way diminished. Last night ' a large audience greeted the stage entertainment, “Before Buddha,” with applause, The dancing-of Gladys Crossan,. Dale Austen and Fred Wauehop was a bright feature of the presentation, while . vocal numbers were provided by Norman Lennon and Jack Nelson. The second half ■ of the programme was composed of ballet numbers by various groups of performers. The frocking and general stage arrange- . ments reflected great credit on the producer (Mr F. Geade Wauehop).. Tlie various stalls and side shows in Fullers’.Hall did excellent business, and the cabaret in Victoria Hall proved to be ' one of the most popular sections of the carnival. The music for the cabaret was provided by Will Smith’s Kapaj Hand. The carnival will be continued .every evening this week until Saturday night; when the activities will be brought to a close. .
