(Per United Press Associate AUCKLAND, April 26. A denial that pressure had been brought on 12 permanent tallymen in-the employ of the Union Steam' Ship Company to induco tliem to resign from their union was made in the Arbitration Court by Mi Carter, manager of the company, when an application to amend the award was under consideration. So far as he was concerned, ho said, the men had resigned voluntarily. Mr Shepherd; for the union, said it was singular that the. resignations were all received on the same day.-The union sought to have provision made in the award to cover permanent tallying.
