The gross tonnage of steamships entering and leaving railwhy-owncd docks is over 60,000,000 tons a , year,, while the tonnage of imports and exports aggregates 80,000,000 tons annually. Frose these docks frequent services of railway-owned passenger steamers afford services for both passengers and freight with the Continent, Ireland, the Channel Islands, and the Isle of Man, both by day and by night.
