CONSTANCE AND MARGARET IZARD.
The programmes to be offered by the Misses Constance and Margaret Izard in the season which will be commenced in Burns Hall on Tuesday next are described as unique. This will be practically the first occasion in New Zealand when a combination of visiting artists have given duets for violin and ’cello alone, and each programme will contain a proportion of this popular musical combination. The Morning ost of London said about Miss Constance Izard the violinist: “ Her sympathetic style, bright tone, and wellordered execution were also displayed in Mozart’s Concerto in D.” Speaking of Miss Margaret Izard, the ’cellist, the Daily Telegraph said: “We admired Miss Margaret Izard’s broad, steady bowing and the springing vigour of her style.” Mi Ernest Empson will act as accompanist.
