HARVEST THANKSGIVING.

There was a very large attendance at Knox Church harvest thanksgiving service on Sunday morning last, and at the events service the church was packed full, The church was tastefully and elaborately decorated with grain, fruit, autumn foliage with scarlet flowers, and a bountiful supply of produce, etc., was displayed and afterwards presented to the Presbyterian orphanages. The floral decorations were in the capable hands of Miss Martin, assisted by a committee of willing helpers, and- their artistic display was much admired, many remaining behind to view them closer. The Rev. James Burns preached two eloquent sermons. In the morning his subject was “ God’s dependence on man,” and in the evening “ The men who reap and the men who sow.” There was a choir of about 60 voices, •which, under Mr Spackman, rendered an anthem very effectively and led the singing brightly. The soloists for the day ■were Miss Mary Pratt In the morning ./ and Miss Meda Paine in the evening, both of whom sang with great taste and charm.
