THE TUNIC ENSEMBLE. A tunic that reaches to within a few inches of the knees is the principal item in an ensemble much favoured by Parisiennes just now as an alternative to the tailored suits. Two examples of this new type of outfit—one for morning and the other for afternoon wear—are shown in the sketch. The one on the left has an interesting kerchief of fur in blue and beige, pieced together to simulate the pattern on the homespun skirt. The tunic is of blue velour de_ laine—a fabric that is much favoured just now at Home—very simply, but effectively, trimmed with lines of cording The other outfit is carried out in the black and red combination that is the last -word in colour scheme. The tunic of laquer red cloth is entirely covered with very'fine braiding. Braiding of this kind is always of exactly the same shade as the material on which it is worked, so that from a distance it resembles the coloured shaved lamb that is having such a vogue. . The cuffs —of black fur to match the t'e —have an elastic slot at the wrist so that, each hand can be thrust into the opposite cuff when a muff is required.
