THEFT OF CATTLE.

TWO MEN CHARGED. COMMITTED FOE TRIAL. (Per United Perss Association.! BLENHEIM, April 11. In the Blenheim Magistrate’s Court, Ray Hebberd and Reginald Stuart Forbes wei; charged with staling live steers, the property of Bryan Greensill, farmer, of Keneporu Sound. The cattle allegedly were sold to a stock dealer, and subsequently traced to a Picton butcher. The defence was a complete denial of the sale of the cattle. The magistrate, remarking that the evidence was very strong, said accused would be committed for trial. Bail was allowed each accused in £2OO (own recognisance) and one surety of a like amount.
