CENTRAL OTAGO.

CLYDE NOTES. (From Our Own Correspondent.) „ CLYDE, February 15. . The Tpwn Trust at its monthly, meeting transacted some important business. Members decided to approach the Vim cent County Council with a request to control.the speed of motor traffic through the town, a particularly; dangerous, corner being the intersection of Sunderland and Coquet street. As the volume of' traffic is increasing decisive action becomes urgently necessary.' The water supply was a matter about which some dissatisfaction existed. The trust was of the opinion ttha the judicious expenditure of a comparatively small amount was all that was necessary. It was decided to draw ■up a definite scheme based upon a thorough inspection, and then to approach the authorities, asking for improvements. The ambry of very attractive design which was recently erected in St. Michael and All Angels’ Church, was dedicated by the vicar (the Rev. A. B. Pywell), In a special sermon the use of an ambry was explained as being for the purpose of reserving the Holy Communion for the sick. The need of this had been felt in connection with the three hospitals in the Dunstan parish. The annual installation of the W.M. and officers of the Dunstan Masonic Lodge was carried out by R.W.B. J. H. Moir, Prov.C.M., Otago,, and other visiting Grand Lodge officials. Bro. D. Gillies was installed W.M. for the new term. The ceremonies were impressively conducted, and there was a good attendance of visitors from other lodges. A new car entrance and an additional entrance for other traffic lias just been completed at the Dunstan Hospital. The other alterations authorised to be made to the main building will be started in a few days.
