M'lndoe in the chair), P. J. Priest, A. Harrod, R. C. Calder, W. Jenkins, E. G. James, R. Hector, A. R. Knights, E. H. James, D. Bannatyne, E. C. Isaacs, and C. B. Lewis (secretary) It was decided to include H. E. Walker (men's diving championship) in the centre's official selection of the Otago team for the New Zealand championships. It was reported that N. ,H. Bailey (who recorded fastest time in the Batt Cup Harbour Race) would be unable to compete at Wellington in the Annette Kellerraan Cup Race as the Otago Centre's official representative. After some discussion it was decided not to send an official representative for the Kellerman Cup Race. Several suggestions, in regard to the conduct of future Batt Cup harbour races were made by Mr Jenkins, who expressed the opinion that all the competitors should travel to the starting point in the same boat. On Saturday several competitors had nearly been left because they were not in the starting boat, and one swimmer was actually a minute behind his proper starting time. Mr E. G. James suggested that a subcommittee should be appointed to go into the rules for the race. It was -resolved that Messrs M'lndoe, Lewis, Jenkins, and E. G. James be instructed to frame regulations for future races. Remits in connection with the annual conference of delegates at Wellington during the New Zealand championships were discussed, and it was decided to support South Canterbury's remit that the 1930 New Zealand championships be allotted to Timaru. On the suggestion of Mr E. H. James, it was decided to forward a remit that educational instructors should be appointed by the Government for the North and South Islands, to visit all schools and instruct teachers and children where necessary.
