TO THE EDITOR Sib,' —In view of the fact that a considerable sum of public money ia expended annually on the Health Department with the object of checking disease, I think it about time that the department’s officers exercised vigilance, over some of the second-hand shops. One or two of these expose goods for sale, which to say the least of ,it, are far from sanitary.—l am, etc., i H.F. North Dunedin, January 12.
