To prevent frauds on tradespeople who change money orders' for strangers, the British Post Office authorities are issuing what should prove to be a very effective warning. Money orders just coming into use have the following printed prominently in white on a black background in the top right-hand corner:— "Not negotiable; warning to the public: do not cash this order for a stranger.* Obliging trades people have changed money orders for well-dressed strangers, on hr to find that the order has. been stolen) or that the amount on the order has been raised, often by as much as £2O or £30..
