And it only includes the loss among insured workers, for which sickness or disablement benefit is payable. So the total loss must be much greater. Sir George gives 'some hints on keeping fit. Referring to colds and other illnesses contracted by' inhalation, he tells us,to “keep at a distance from the breath-spray, or shouting-spray, or cough-spray of an infectious person. A. sneezing man is a dangerous man, to eschew like a leper.” The danger of colds is shown by the fact that in 1927 bronchitis, . pneumonia,' and other respiratory diseases were responsible for 157 out of every 1000 deaths.
