LONDON, January 6. ■■ (Received Jan. 7, at 8 p.m.) The Bishop of Durham, in a New Year sermon, asked bow the Church of England should be disestablished ‘ with a minimum of injury to English religion. “We ought to be able to rely on the goodwill of genuine. Christians when we vindicate the inherent spiritual authority of the Christian Church and disclose a willingness to make material sacrifices in the cause of religious convictions. May God give us grace to do our duty at all costs.”—Times Cable.
