(Received Dec. 14, at 8 p.m.) The second session of the Aeronautical Conference was largely devoted to a discussion on the scientific elimination of the menace of fog to aviators. Dr' E. F. W. Alexandcrson, of the General Electric Company, explained the various methods of counteracting the dangers of mist with radio devices, ,iotably sound wave beacons, and he spoke of the aid given to landing in mist by mechanical devices which arc lowered to the'ground while the plane is flying,’ and which register the distance to earth by lights. Relief from the more technical features was offered by the presentation of the Harmon Trophy to Colonel Lindbergh and the presentation of Distinguished Flying Crosses to Mr Orville Wright and his' late brother, Wilbur.—-Australian Tress Association.
