RAILWAY NOTIFICATIONS. ZEALAND" RAILWAYS. CHRISTMAS AND NEW YEAR HOLIDAYS, 1928-1929. CHRISTCHURCH— DUNEDIN—INVERCARGILL. MAIL AND EXPRESS TRAINS.— From and including Saturday, December 15, 1928, to Saturday, February 9, 1929, inclusive, the following train alterations will be in operation;— The 8.50 a.m., Christehurch-Invercargill and 7.0 a.m. Invercargill-Christchurch Express Trains will run DAILY. The 12.23 p.m. Cbristchurch-Dunedin and 8.40 a.m. Dunedin-Christchurcb Mail Trains will run DAILY. The 8.35 a.m. Dunedin-Invercargill and the 1.45 p.m. Invercargill-Dunedin Mail Trams will run DAILY. The Mail Train usually leaving Christchurch on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays ®- 5 9 a,m -> f° r Dunedin, WILL NOT RUN during the above period. /The usual _ 6.40 p.m. (Sunday, Tuesday, Thursday) Invercargill-Christchurch, and-, the usual 10.30 p.m., (Sunday, Wednesday, Friday) Christchurch-Invercargilll Night Express Trains will run as at present. On December 23 the 6.40 p.m. Inver-eargill-Christchurch Night Express (Dunedin depart 11.20 pun.) connects with Special Daylight Ferry Steamer to Wellington on 24th. - ORDINARY TRAINS.—The usual 4.23 p.m. Oamaru-Palmerston train will leave Hampden at 7,10 p.m., Palmerston arrive’ 8.17 p.m. The 5.10 a.m. Dunedin-Balolutha train will not stop between Dunedin and Mosgiel to pick up passengers. The usual 0.52 a.m. (Monday, Wednesday, Friday) Milton-Lawrence train will leave Milton 10.29 a.m. CHRISTCHURCH-DUNEDIN. RELIEF EXPRESS . TRAINS.—On DECEMBER 22, 24, and 26, JANUARY 2 and 5, Relief Express Trains will run, leaving Christchurch for Dunedin 9.10 а. and Dunedin for Christchurch at 9.5 a.m. On DECEMBER 24 and* JANUARY 2 Relief Express Train leaves Christchurch for Dunedin 12.45 p.m., and Dunedin for Christchurch 12.5 p.m.; latter train will NOT connect with Perry Steamer at Lyttelton. On DECEMBER 22 and 24 train leaves Christchurch for Dunedin 10,25 p.m., and Dunedin for Christchurch 10.20 p.m. (On 22nd connects with Special Daylight Ferry Steamer for Wellington on 23rd.) DUNEDIN-GORE-INVEkCARGILL. EXTRA. EXPRESS TRAINS.*—On DECEMBER 24, 26, and JANUARY 2 Extra Express Trains will run, leaving Dunedin for Invercargill at 9.0 a.m„ and Invercargill for Dunedin 2.5 pan. On these dates the Ordinary Down and Up Mail Trains will run between Dunedip and Gore only. On DECEMBER 22 Extra Express, Train leaves Invercargill for Dunedin at 2.5 p.m., on which date Up Mail Train runs from. Gore only. On DECEMBER 22 and 24 Extra Express Train leaves Dunedin "for Invercargill at 5.43 p.m. OTHER ALTERATIONS AND ADDITIONS. OAMARU-DUNEDIN.—On DECEMBER 22, 24. 20, JANUARY 2 and 5, the usual 8.52 am. train for Oamaru will leave Dunedin at 9.15 a.m. DUNEDIN-BALCLUTHA.—On DECEMBER 22, 24, 26 and JANUARY 2 train usually leaving Balclutha for Dunedin at 4.45 p.m, leaves 6.30 p.m., Milton б. p-m., arriving Dunedin 8.40 p.m. On DECEMBER 22 and 2.4 leaves Milton 6.54 p.m.,'arrives Dunedin 8.51 p.m. DUNEDIN-PORT CHALMERS.—On leaves Dunedin 10.31 p.m-, arriving Port Chalmers 10.58 p.m. KUROW BRANCH.—On DECEMBER S 4 train leaves Kurow 6.10 p.m., Oamaru arrive 7.50 p.m.; returning Oamaru depart 11.0 p.m., Kurow arrive- 12.45 a an. (25th). NGAPARA BRANCH.—Train leaves Oamaru 3,40 p.m., Ngapara arrive 4.40 pm.; returning Ngapara depart 6,35 p.m., Oamaru arrive 7.35 p.m. Train leaves Oamaru 10.55' p.m., Ngapara arrive 11.55 p.mi DUNEDIN-PORT CHALMERS-OAM-ARU.—Special Train leaves Port Chalmers 0,45 p.m., Dunedin arrive 7.15 p.m. Stops where required. Dunedin-Port Chalmers and the 11.12 p.m. Port Cbal-mers-Dunedin trains will run.HOLIDAY EXCURSION TICKETS from Dunedin and stations North .thereof to Palmerston and intermediate stations will NOT be available by Up Mail trains leaving Dunedin at 8.40 a.m. and 9.5 a.m. DUNEDIN - MOSGIEL - CLINTON.— Usual 9.20 a.m. Dunedin-Clinton train leaves Dunedin 9.9 a.m., Mosgicl 10.8 a.m., thence as usual. Train leaves Dunedin 9.30 am., Milton 11.7, Balclutha 11.55 a.m., Owaka 1.40 p.m., arriving Tahakopa 3.43 p.m. Usual 4,51 p.m. train for Clinton leaves Henley 6.37 p.m., Milton 7.24. arriving Clinton 9.31 p.m. Train leaves Dunedin 6.52 p.m., Milton 8.33, Balclutha arrive 9.13 p.m., connecting with trains for Lawrence and Tahakopa. Usual 7.20 p.m. train , for Lawrence leaves Milton 8.38 p.m. Train leaves Tahakopa 11.30 a.m., Owaka J. 55 p.m., Balclutha 3.20, Milton 4.3, arriving Dunedin 5.38 pjn. The usual 10.30 a.m. Balclutha-Taha-kopa and 11.30 a.m. Tahakopa-Balclutha trains will NOT run. Train leaves Balclutha 9,28 p.m., Owaka 10.50, Tahakopa arrive 12.30 ami (23tb!. The 7.0 a.m. Invercargill-Christchurch and the 8.50 a.m. Christchurch-Invercar-gill Express_ trains WILL run. The 12.25 p.m. Christchurch-Dunediu and 8.40 a.m, Dunedin-Christchurch Mail trains WILL run. The 6.40 p.m. Invercargill-Christchurch Night Express train WILL run. The 8.35 a m, Dunedin-Invercargill and the 1.45 p.m. Invercargill-Dunedin Mail trains WILL run. Extra Express train for Gore leaves Dunedin at 9.0' a.m., Gore arrive 12.25 P-m., Returning Gore depart 1.5 p.m, Dunedin arrive 4.35 p.m. DUNEDIN - PALMERSTON.—Train leaves Dunedin for Palmerston at 9,30 am., returning leaving Palmerston for Dunedin at 5.0 pm. HOLIDAY EXCURSION TICKETS from Dunedin and stations North thereof to Palmerston and intermediate stations will NOT be available by the Up Mail train leaving Dunedin at 8.40 a.m. PORT CHALMERS BRANCH Trains leave Dunedin for Port Chalmers at 9.38 am., 2.28 pm., 5.5 p.m., and 8.32 p.m. Trains leave Port Chalmsr.s for Dunedin at 10.18 am., 3.8 pm., 5.45 pm., and 9.10 pm. ' WAIMATE BRANCH.—Trains will connect at Studholme with Up and. Down I Mail and Express trains. DUNEDIN-MOSGIEL-BALCLUTHA.— Train leaves Dunedin for Balclutha at 9.20 am., Balclutha arrive 12.24 p.m. Train leaves Balclutha 7.0 am., Dunedin arrive 10.2 am. Trains leave Dunedin for Mosgiel 1.10 p.m. and 6.40 p.m., and Mosgiel for Dunedin at 1.51 p.m. and 7.20 pm OTAGO CENTRAL BRANCH.—The 7.40 a.m. and 7.52 a.m. Dunedin-Cromwcll and the 7,40 a.m. Cromwell-Dunedin trains WILL run.
