AQUATICS.

YACHT CLUB CRUISING RACES. The actual racing season, so far as boating is concerned, will commence on Otago Harbour this afternoon, when the Oldgo Yacht and Motor Boat -Club will hold two long-distance races. The yacht cruising event to Broad Bay should be interesting, as sgyen boats have been entered, namely, ' Vera, . Minnow, Lark, Shadow, Miti, Experiment, and Starlight. The race will be started at 3 p.m. from the channel opposite the boat harbour. The boats will race down .the eastern side ol the harbour, the finishing tifnes being taken from the Broad Bay wharf. The cruising race for motor boats will be started from the channel at 3.15 p.m., “and the competitors will traverse the eastern side of the harbour to Broad Bay, where the finishing times will be logged. The following are the entries:—Nell, Jewell, Marewa, Islay, Stella, Ngaio.
