OWAKA SHOW.

' ’AN OUTSTANDING SUCCESS.

Favoured as it was by glorious weather conditions, the annual show of the Owaka A. . and P. Society, . which was held at Owaka on Thursday, was an outstanding success, for not only were the entries Sweetly in excess of those received last year, but the quality of the stock as a whole* also showed considerable improvement oh that exhibited in 1927. Although in ■ some - of the cattle sections, notably , Ayrshires and fat cattle, and in the Leicester sheep class, the entries were' rather disappointing, that lack of support was more than compensated for by the keen competition in the remainder of the •lasses. . tinder the guidance p£ the secretary (Mr H. : C. Alloo),'the arrangements for the, conduct of the show were carried through without a hitch, while the decisions of the various judges were invariably received, with approval. The gate for the day amounted to £64 7s 3d, or £6 more than the receipts last year. The. following is the prize list:— . CATTLE. MILKING SHORTHORN.: Judge: Mr T. H. Russell (Milburn).
