(Per United-Press Association.) ' PALMERSTON N., December 7. In the Magistrate’s Court James.Ruskm Robertson, aged 46, a timber-yard worker, pleaded guilty to six charges of theft from the Taringamotu Totara-Saw mills, Ltd., at Palmerston North, by whom he was employed. The total sum involved .was £lO4. The accused elected to be dealt with summarily and pleaded guilty. He was remanded in custody till Monday. ■ - WELLINGTON, December 7. Hearing of the charge against a warder (Hugh; Dixon Tyree) at Porirua, of injuring.a patient, was adjourned aftir plaintiff’s evidence had been taken. In cross-examination, he said he did not call for help as none of the warders "ould have assisted him. He admitted that he had given trouble at various times, but alleged that the accused had attacked scores of other men. WAIROA, December 7, At an early hour this ; morning, a four-roomed cottage in North Clyde, owned by Mr J, M'Grcgor, and occupied by Mr A. Dunnachie, was practically gutted. _ The fire had a strong hold, but was quickly subdued on the brigade’s arrival.
