LAWN TENNIS.

COSY DELL CLUB

The animal meeting of the Cosy Dell Lawn Tennis Club was held on Monday evening in the Returned Soldiers’ Club Rooms. The president (Mr James Taylor) presided over a good attendance of members. In moving the adoption of the report and balance sheet, the president expressed regret that the teams had not been more successful in their matches, but ho trusted that they would have better results next season. lie congratulated the winners of the club tournament, events, specially mentioning Miss A. Fleming's performance in winning the Ladies’ Championship Singles. Mr Taylor was very pleased to sec the club s finance iu such a sound position. The election of office-bearers resulted as follows;—President. Mr James Taylor; vice-presidents—Messrs W. Burt, J. .L Clark, J. H. Macfie, R. G. Hudson, J. Dick, I. Stevenson, J. Hogg, F. W. Mitchell, and T. Fogc: secretary,-Dir J. L. Oliver: treasurer. Miss 0. James; committee —Misses Smith. Smellie, Le Brun. and Turner. Messrs Clark, Bell. Jensen, Hunter, and Balk; delegates to O.L.T.A. —Messrs Jensen and Hunter.

Mr R. Park, jun., was elected a life member.

The opening day was fixed for Saturday, September 15. The number of teams to be entered iu the competition is to ho fixed by the in coming committee. A deputation, consist in? of Mpuj u M'Millan and Clark, of the 0.L.T.A.. waited on (ho members to explain tinLogan Park scheme. After hearing the speakers, the president said he considered the idea a splendid one, and that the project was quite sound, and he felt sure that the members of the, club would give their whole-hearted support. Before the meeting closed the following resolution was passed—“ That this club strongly supports the Summer Time Bill now before the House, and trusts that it will he duly passed.”
