APIA OBSERVATORY SUMMARY, From the meteorological summary for the months of Alareh and April, forwarded by Air Andrew Thomson, director of Apia Observatory, Samoa, the following extracts have been made, the first figures in each instance being for Alareh and the second for April:— The average shade temperature, Bl.l3deg, So.s3deg; highest 88.7 deg, 88.2d0g; lowest 74.7c1eg, 71.8 deg. Rainfall, 15.78 inches, 11.29 inches; greatest fall in 24 hours—Alareh 13, 3.4Cin; April 19, 2.82 in. The year thus far has been unusually moist, the accumulated excess above normal at the end of April amounting to 13.7!)in. Alcan relative humidity at 2 p.m., 80.0 per cent.; 79.0 per cent, of saturation.
