OTAGO LAND BOARD.

A meeting of the Otago Land Board was held yesterday, and was attended by Messrs J. Macdonald (chairman), James Smith, T. A. Munro, G. J. Inder, G. Livingstone. LAST CHANCE IRRIGATION BLOCK. The board was asked to classify the land recently surveyed in the above block in Fraser and Cairnhill survey districts. —The land to be classified as third class. The commissioner advised that the survey had now been completed of the sections in the Last Chance block. _ The board was asked to consider the disposal of the areas applied for by Messrs L. H. Drnnisten and V. A. Fenwick. —Resolved to grant renewable lease tenure at capital values of £6OO and £3OO respectively, subject to the payment in cash of the valuation of the improvements and to any existinc raring rights; subject also to a special con, providing for the boundary fencin'• '."'tween sections 115, block I,’ami 16. b e 1: 11. Fraser survey district, to be on the mutual boundary fixed by the Commissioner of Crown Lands. MACLTO WN COMMONAGE.

The b'-ard was asked to rescind the resolution of April 14, 1026, granting J. T. MTiityra a risk to occupy the above area, as he had failed to reply to correspondence or to make the required payments, —Resolution rescinded. GLADBROOK AND POPLAR GROVE SETTLEMENTS.

J. R. Watson, secretary of the Middlemarch Soldiers’ Association, wrote on behalf of the soldier settlers on Gladbrqok and Poplar Grove settlements, applying for revaluation and reduction of rentals of their holdings.—Resolved to refer the matter to the Dominion Revaluation Board. APPLICATION FOR LAND.

David Fraser, of Matakanui. applied for a renewable lease over an area of 290 acres in block VII. Lauder survey district, at present held by him under miscellaneous license. --Granted proviusually. subject to survey. Thomas George Govan applied to purchase the freehold of a residence area of one acre in bio. k IX, Loaning Rock survey district.—Granted provisionally, subject to survey.

John Rivers, of Alexandra, applied to purchase on deferred payments an area of approximately 220 acres in block VII, Leaning Rock survey district, adjoining sections 51 and 121. The Terrace Orchard Company also applied to purchase 150 acres of the same area, adjoining section 51. —Applications declined on account of the warden’s objection. Craven Paget applied for a renewable lease over section 119, block I, Fraser survey district, area 118 a Or 9p, being a part of the Last Chance block. —Declined on account of the warden’s objection.

John Mooney applied for an occupation lease over section 158. block X, Leaning Rock survey district: area la lr 33p. Granted at a capital value of 30s; the area to be included in O.L. 478. Miss Elizabeth Ellen O’Fee applied to select on the renewable lease system section 10. block IV, Shotover survey district, containing 120 a 3r 20p, the said ! and being held on grazing license by the holder of Glencoe Station.—Application declined, the land to be withdrawn from selection in terms of section 156 of the Land Act, 1924.
