DUNEDIN SOUTH SEAT. MR W. B. TAVERNER TO STAND. Mr W. B. Taverner (Mayor of Dunedin) , who is the president of the southern division of the United Party’s South Island organisation, has consented to contest the Dunedin South seat. At a recent meeting of Mr T. K. Sidey’s committee it was resolved to ask Mr Taverner, as an old political associate of the retiring member, to become a candidate for the seat. This he agreed to do, and it is intended to call a meeting of friends and supporters at an early date to set up sectional committees and engage in an active campaign. THE WAIMARINO SEAT. an INDEPENDENT CANDIDATE. (Per United Press Association.) TAUMARUNUI, July 28. Mr J. Georgetti, a well-known member of the Wellington Land Board, to-day announced himself as a candidate for the Waimarino seat as an Independent.
