THE ARCADE.

TO THE EDITOR. Sir, —The 57 years’ residence of your correspondent, Win. B. M. Fea, in Dunedin cannot have imbued him with any idea of modern progress or improvement. His insinuation that the shopholders in this Arcade are “ aliens ” shows his nar-row-mindedness and his lack of tact, and also calls for an emphatic denial from all, either in the Arcade or in the adjacent business places. I earnestly hope that the ratepayers will vote for the proposal for the purchase of the Arcade, and so have removed for ’all time this blemish on our beautiful city and the possibility of its occupancy by any aliens, as suggested by Mr Fea.—l am, etc., , L. B. D.
