CITY CORPORATION NOTICES. jyUNEDIN CITY COUNCIL. NOTICE OF CONFIRMATION OF SPECIAL ORDER. PUBLIC NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the Dunedin City Council, at a Special Meeting convened for the purpose and held on Wednesday, 25th day of July, 1928, passed the following resolution (intended to operate as a Special Order) authorising the raising of a Loan of £225,000 for the purposes of the “ Waipori Falls Electrical Power Act, 1904,” namely;— 1. “ THAT, in pursuance and exercise of the powers vested in it in that behalf by Section 15 of “The Waipori Falls Electrical Power Act, 1904,” and by “ The Local Bodies Loans Act, 1926,” the Dunedin City Council hereby resolves (so that this resolution may be confirmed at a subsequent meeting of the Council and operate as a Special Order) to raise a special Loan of Two Hundred and Twenty-five Thousand Pounds (£225,000) for the purpose of erecting a dam or weir in the Waipori River to impound water for use in generating electricity. 2. “ THAT the security for the interest and sinking fund and repayment of the said Special Loan of Two Hundred and Twenty-five Thousand Pounds be a special annually recurring rate of Three Pence Halfpenny (3sd) in the Pound (£) upon the rateable value (on the basis of the Annual Value) of all rateable property of the City of Dunedin comprising the whole of the said City. 3. “ THAT the term of the debentures issued in respect of the said Special 1 Loan be fifteen (15) years. 4. “ THAT a sinking fund of One Pound (£l) per centum per annum on the amount of the said loan be established in connection with the same, and that the amount of such sinking fund be paid to the Sinking Fund Commissioners appointed by the said Council on the Ist day of February in each and every year during the currency of such loan being a period of fifteen years from the Ist day of February, 1929, or until the loan is fully paid off, of which sinking fund the first payment shall be made on the Ist day of February, 1930. 5. “ THAT the said Special Loan of £225,000 be raised by the issue of debentures under “ The Local Bodies Loans Act, 1926,” and bear interest at the rate of Five Pounds Ten 1 Shillings per centum (5J per cent.) per annum payable half yearly on the Ist day of August and on the Ist day of February in each and every year during the currency of such loan, and that coupons be annexed to each such debenture accordingly, and that the said debentures and coupons be payable at any branch’ of the Bank of New Zealand within the Dominion of New Zealand free of exchange to the holder thereof. 6. “ THAT the Corporate Seal of the Dunedin City Council be affixed to all such debentures and that all such debentures and coupons be signed by the Mayor and countersigned by the City Treasurer, but so that their respective signatures may be lithographed on the coupons.” 1 And NOTICE IS HEREBY FURTHER ! House of Representatives, to Miss Alice Roosevelt, at White House, in 1906, came up for auction recently he gave an agent a commission to bid 10 dollars for it.
