FRENCH CURRENCY.
CROWDS THRONG THE BANKS. EXCHANGING GOLD FOR PAPER. (United Press Association.) (By Electric Telegraph—Copyright.) PARIS, July 4. (Received July 4, at 9 p.m.) Crowds are thronging to the Bank of France to exchange pre-war gold coins for paper francs, under the iew valuation. The rush is ck.e to the fact that the coins will cease to be negotiable when the 100-franc gold pieces which are now being minted arc issued. Thus everybody is bringing gold from hidden places. —Australian Press Association.
