The monthly meeting of the Port Chalmers School Committee was held last evening, the following members being present: —The Rev. W. M. Grant (chairman), J. Miller. Dr Edgar. J. Morgan, J. Osborn. W. J. Johnstone and W. D. Sutherland. It was reported that the delineascope had been removed from the Technical School and installed in one of the rooms of the main school, and had proved to be of great advantage both to the staff and to the children. Early in the winter the committee •was faced with the difficulty of finding ways and means of bringing the children from Deborah Bay to the school, as the road was in such a state that it was utterly impossible for the small children to walk to the school. Satisfactory means of conveyance had been arranged, however, and children to the number of 22 were now to be brought to the school and taken home again. It was resolved that a basket ball be procured for the school teams. The Visiting Committee reported very favourably on its visit to the school. The rector reported that the average roll in the primary department for the past four weeks had been 375. and the average attendance 350. In the secondary department the average attendance had been 14. Messrs W. J. Johnstone and J. Miller wore appointed a Visiting Committee for the month.
