The police are satisfied that Monica Holy accidentally fell over the cliff.— Australian Press Association. A previous message stated: “ A woman’s battered and lifeless body was found at the foot of a cliff at Little Coogee. The police are of the opinion that there has been foul play. The woman was about 27 years of age. She was named Monica Holly, and lived with Augustus Killy in a rough hut nearby. He told the police that he believed she fell over the cliff, which is 70ft high, during the week-end. THE MARRICKVILLE MURDER. GOVERNMENT REWARD OFFERED. SYDNEY, July 3. Two masked men drove a motor cycle to a confectionery shop at Marrickville kept by Mrs Sarah Falvey and her sister. Miss Vaughan, both of whom were elderly. When the men attempted to rob the till the women screamed, whereupon one of the men drew a revolver and shot both of them. Mrs Falvey was killed instantly, and Miss Vaughan died in the hospital. She was .taken to hospital in a critical condition. She told the police that, with a girl friend she left the factory where she worked at 5.30 yesterday afternoon. On the way home they met two men in a motor car, who asked them if they wanted a nde in the car to meet the bus. The girls consented, but later the fnend left the car, and before sh© could follow the men drove quickly awav. (Received July 3, at 10 p.m.) A beam supporting scaffolding on which three men were working at the Australian Gaslight Company’s new holders at Alexandria snapped, throwing the three men to a concrete floor, a distance of 22 feet. Edward Garden and William Clark were killed, whilst the other man was seriously injured.—Australian Press Association. TWO MEN ASPHYXIATED. BATH HEATER TURNED ON. SYDNEY, July 3. (Received Julv 3,_ at 11 p.m.) Noticing water running from a bathroom in a flat occupied by James Simpson and Jack Drudson, the owner forced the door, and found the two men asphyxiated by carbon monoxide gas. They had been dead about eight hours. Apparently they went to the bathroom and turned the bath heater on, being immediatelv overcome by the gas.—Australian Press Association.
